Why Hippeastrum Papilio | Pack of 2?

Chosen for its unusual butterfly-shaped flowers, contrasting green-white and deep red coloration, vigorous growth and potential to flower more than once a year under favorable cultivation.

Planting & Care Guide for Hippeastrum Papilio | Pack of 2?

  • Grow in fertile, well-drained soil or a free-draining potting mix.
  • For container cultivation, plant the bulb with approximately two-thirds remaining above the soil surface.
  • Place in a sunny or partially shaded, sheltered position.
  • Keep warm during active growth; around 15–18°C is recommended by the RHS for good growth.
  • Water regularly once growth begins, but avoid waterlogging.
  • After flowering, maintain the foliage with careful watering and regular balanced fertilizer so the bulb can replenish its reserves. This species can remain evergreen, so prolonged forced dormancy is not always necessary.
